NHSS 12C Planning Officer Course

Duration: Two days with a one-day demo

Group Size: Maximum 6 learners

Who should attend: All learners who are employed as planning officers for mobile lane closures.

Pre-requisites: Learners must have complete the half day NHSS Temporary Traffic Management Basic Course (TTMBC).

Course aims: To provide learners with the necessary knowledge to becoming a Planning Officer for mobile lane closures.

Course Objectives:

On completion of the session learners will:

  • Be aware of sector schemes and general health and safety at work
  • Be aware of reference documentation relevant to Mobile Lane Closure Techniques
  • Be able to conduct pre-works checks on MLC advance warning vehicles and trailers
  • Be able to conduct pre-works checks on MLC Block vehicle
  • Be able to conduct pre-works briefing for an MLC team
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of MLC operatives and Supervisors
  • Understand the principles and practical techniques when using the Mobile Lane Closure Technique

Certification: On completion, all learners will undertake an operative and supervisor multiple-choice question paper which carries a 75% pass mark. Lantra Awards will award learners which have passed both tests with a Lantra card which is valid for 5 years.
